About this site
Privacy
What this site records when you visit it, and why.
Vincenzo D'Amico is responsible for this site and for the data described here.

What is counted
The site counts its own visits, to know how much it is read and where from. For each visit it records, added up by day:
- the country, the approximate city and the network the visit comes from (for example a university or an internet provider), as Cloudflare reports them;
- the site you arrive from, without the address of its page;
- the language of the site, the pages viewed, and the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer).
Latest visits
It also keeps the latest 100 visits with the same details and their time, without any identifier.
Distinct visitors
To tell the visitors of one day apart, the site computes a code from the IP address and the browser together with a random key that changes every day. The code and the key are deleted the next day: the IP address cannot be recovered from them, and a visitor cannot be recognised from one day to the next.
What is not collected
No cookies and no identifier stored on your device; no IP address kept; no third-party statistics or advertising. The site loads nothing from other sites.
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, your visits are not counted.
Where the data is
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the technical data of each request (such as the IP address) to serve the pages, under its own privacy policy. The statistics are kept in a Cloudflare database, and only the person responsible for the site sees them.
Legal basis and retention
The statistics serve the legitimate interest of the person responsible in knowing how the site is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The daily counts are kept while the site is online; the visitor codes for one day; the list of latest visits for the 100 most recent ones.
Your rights
You can ask for information, object to the counting or ask for deletion by writing to the address above. Since the site keeps no data that identifies a person, your visits usually cannot be found among the others. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
